Labor leaders from Minnesota were energized by President Barak Obama's speech to the 2009 AFL-CIO Convention in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009. Obama pledged support around the major themes and issues facing working people and unions - health care reform, the Employee Free Choice Act, and jobs, including green jobs. "You know, the White House is pretty nice, but there's nothing like being back in the house of labor," opened the President, drawing from labor history and the values of work, the common good, and organizing as he energized the delegates for the fights ahead.
