Russia is warning that if U.S. plans for an anti-missile system in Eastern Europe materialise, its response will also be material the deployment of Iskander missiles near Polands border. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov made Moscows position clear at a media briefing with his Finnish counterpart Alexander Stubb.

The US GMD missile defense system is exactly what the Americans have said it is and nothing more. It is a hit-to-kill defensive system with only 10 interceptors for Europe for defense against the emerging Iranian threat.

If it was a threat to the 6800 or so Russian nukes it would need thousands of interceptors.

The Russians have not changed since their country was made up centuries ago. There's nothing wrong with the people themselves (it's ALWAYS unfair to generalize) but they always have such terrible, warlike, idiotic governments that would make George Bush seem intelligent...
