  • Hmm i watched this on my windows 7 pc last month and my computer completely froze up.

  • Well, I've never had my comp freeze up due to too much running all at once, but that's just because I spend way too much money on my computer :D. 8 gigs of RAM means that I can run pretty much everything my heart desires without running out of memory.

  • @jesusfreakrkg Beachball = FROZEN FINDER (UI? Explorer?)

lol, Yeah I know, I use a clone of MSN messenger- I can communicate with all of my contacts using that on linux, but I have my reasons for wanting MSN to work over there. ^_^

  • @Blivia

If you mean MSN messenger, you'd be better off using a Google Gmail account.

Hey now, I never said WINE was good, or very compatible but I've seen some pretty crazy feats accomplished with it. As I said, I couldn't even get MSN to run via Wine. There is a clone to MSN, but quite honestly, I wish Microsoft would suck it up, and stop making MSN so completely incompatible with Linux, or just make a Linux version. Hell, they even have an MSN for Mac. The reason I want MSN to work, is because of how, and where it saves my message history. lol

  • @Blivia

I agree with you on every single point except WINE. I just can't wait around waiting for it to catch up. Up until a few months ago, even Half Life 2 was having issues according to WINE's official website. I half-agree on the free apps thing. I mean, look hard enough and you'll find free apps across platfoms, including OpenOffice. In fact, most free Linux apps have Windows counterparts already. Everything from Winamp to OpenOffice.

=o, I can do three things on a Windows machine that you stated to use other, probably more/less suitable for the job.

Can also game on PC, I like the keyboard/mouse layout for my FPS, and RPGs. ^_^

Also, I can be as creative as I want on a PC, as I could any other machine. I don't do much video editing, but I might get that inspiration. And, I can also get work done on a pc. =3, Just throwing in my two cents.

I'm going to have to put my word in, first I'll say I use Windows over any other O/S, but Linux has a WIDE range of tools. Yes, they're lacking in games, but for every program out there, there's a clone Linux app that's just as good, if not better, and likely almost always free. The O/s can turn an outdated, slow computer into a quick, stable machine you can use for just about any kind of work. I haven't used it much, but I plan to once I can hax MSN to work with WINE. XD
