The Warner Music Group are taking control of Youtube, limiting our use of this great site. WMG are muting our videos and stopping cover singers, fan video artists and music video makers from posting their work on Youtube. How is that fair?

They are not pyhsically sharing any music, which isn't illegal. No one is claiming the music are their own and no one making their videos for profit. It's a joke how they're allowed to control our use of YT and it's not fair.

We need to take a stand now.

It's effecting many Youtubers and this needs stamping out before it takes over the whole community.

  • imagine a world without viacom and WMG Youtube would be number 1 in the Alexa rankings of websites not google :/

  • @StudioClockWork if WMG enforced the policy a little more carefully and correctly, then people wouldn't hate them so fucking much

  • @vevoumgwmg Summing it up as simply thinking that piracy should be allowed is simple-minded. I would take any chance to do whatever I can to avoid or lessen the enforcement of copyright laws however, although it would be better if copyright laws changed significantly. You still refuse to think before you speak. And I did not "Agree to the policy", I agreed to FOLLOW the policy. Youtube couldn't care less what my opinion on the policy is. I simply want to remove those who enforce the policy.

  • @StudioClockWork I am not sure why you think I am a troll that is ignoring the topic, especially when you are the one that says that piracy should be allowed.

Let me remind you this. When you signed up for your account, you clearly ticked the box that says "I agree you all of Youtube policies". But now you say you disagree with this copyright policy, did you not just contradict yourself there? Maybe if you had read the policies carefully you would have understood.

  • @vevoumgwmg Yet again you completely ignore the topic at hand. I'm really starting to think you're just a bad troll. Nobody cares whether it's youtube or WMG who makes the policies. It makes no difference. The problem is the morality of the policy and the far-too-strict enforcement. We acknowledge the policy yet we do something amazing, astounding, something you don't seem to be able to do. We think for ourselves and DISAGREE, instead of letting our lives be run by money.

  • @StudioClockWork That policy is not set by WMG or VEVO. That policy is set by Youtube.

Youtube makes all the rules, not WMG. WMG enforces it.

  • @vevoumgwmg You're saying that your argument isn't about piracy? You directly referred to piracy in your comment. Unless, of course, you think I'm referring to a different comment .The reason videos are banned is because of a paranoia amongst WMG and others of piracy. I never said anything about whether I AM a pirate or not, so don't put words into my mouth either. Also, I'm not saying that it's not against policy to use copyrighted material. I just don't condone the strictness of the policy.

  • @StudioClockWork You are arguing for piracy, which is not what the argument was about. It was about whether the user had violated Youtube policies or not.

Piracy is already out of the picture, because Youtube clearly forbids it. If you are going to be a pirate go somewhere else.

  • @vevoumgwmg Piracy is in direct support of producers. Studies have ALREADY shown that people who pirate things tend to buy more DVD's and go to the theater much more often than those who don't. Why? Because they sample something before purchasing. Do some research before you post. The idea of "copyright" is a restriction of freedom under any circumstances.

  • No we do not need to unite against WMG. You have got it all wrong. We need to unite with WMG to fight piracy.
