If your kids made a split second stupid decision and fired a baseball through my window, I would have 3 options, pay for it myself, have my homeowners insurance pay for it ultimately causing me to pay a deductible and my rates to go up or you could do the right thing and pay for it. Seems fair to me, or perhaps you would say I'm out for a payday.

@korky15 Say what you want to say. I know #7 personally and was on the ice when it happened, he hasn't even contacted an attorney and certainly didn't contact the press, they called him. He waited a week before calling Roseville PD, #124 hasn't tried to even apologize for the incident. #7 is looking at a hefty medical bill that he shouldn't have to pay. You say facts straight? I've got mine how bout you? You've been making assumptions the whole time, I've got facts from the source.

Stupid law suites always close places down, from water parks to hockey arenas. Don't be so ignorant as to ignore that it is a factor in places shutting down.

Had has a negative effect on their insurance premiums, when they can't afford that anymore they can't afford to stay open.

a far better way of approaching the entire situation out side of getting sue happy. He is attempting to sue the rink and the player. All signs would indicate he is looking for a pay day.

Bottom line if the guy wanted those things recovered, did he have to go law suit first? Did he have to go to roseville PD and press Felony charges? get your facts straight before talking.

If the guy wasnt looking for a pay day, there are other ways of going about it. He went to the media instead of the other player first because???? You don't have to agree that's fine but at least acknowledge

I guess if you are going to say #7 deserved it, then by the same logic you could say that Steve Moore had it coming to him when Todd Bertuzzi slammed his face in the ice, right?

#124 got off VERY lightly with 30 days, especially since this is the end of the season and the new one doesn't start for three weeks. What does he miss, one game? He must be buddies with Derek because it should have been a lot more. There's just no room for that in hockey - especially in a recreational league.

I play at Skatetown myself but not in the Gold B division. I don't know either player nor anyone on either team so I am not biased one way or the other. That hit though by #124 was complete BS. That hit from behind could have done some damage. Just because the guy went to work the next day and played the next week does not diminish the attempt and I'm amazed that some people are trying to do just that. I'm further amazed that people think #7 had this coming to him. Why? Because he slashed?

What video are you watching? As # 7 comes back towards the goalie his body moves abruptly from a cross-check (@1:06 sec), he retaliates with a punch to the side of #124 cage which he immediately gets an elbow (1:07/1:08)....then the ugliness. You can't see that? The first cross-check can be seen, just watch #124's stick.....you're blind or stupid.  Media contacted him to by the way. Are not understanding that #124 could have permanently injured #7?
