Flying Rod Alien 100% GENUINE FOOTAGE HD720p

I only spotted this flash across the viewer when i was editing highlights from a Psytrance party last weekend Near Fundao, Portugal.
It's only when i was shuttling backwards frame by frame that i actually spotted the mysterious so-called 'Flying Rod' entity swimming through the air at blistering speed between me and the DJ.
This is not a joke or a hoax, this is raw camera footage (Panasonic digital full HD) and is as much of a surprise to me as to you.
Many people have suggested it's some bug but the original footage was running at 100fps and the entity crossed the viewfinder in five frames. At that rate it would have to moving in excess of 200mph. What bug flies at 200 miles an hour?
I'm a rationalist but this thing has left me utterly without explanation, and any comments would be welcomed.

I'm not sure if you've already seen the Wikipedia entry on Rods (optics) or not? It talks about what these are believed to be. Youtube won't let me post the URL as a comment :-(
