Lisa Morrissey interviews the Non-Profit Toolbox's keynote speaker, Kathleen Burns Kingsbury. Kathleen is a writer, trainer and consultant money intelligence coach that helps organizations and individuals be intelligent around their finances.

She worked in the non-profit community for over 15 years. She helps non-profits by evaluating their emotional road blocks to help people take care of their finances properly or to be more confident in their fund raising efforts either individually or in groups.

Some of the challenges she sees with the non-profit sector are similar to those faced in the for profit sector:

1. Avoidance of the topic
2. Fear

Almost all of us have trouble asking for money or can be uncomfortable receiving funds. for those that do have trouble asking for donations she suggests using the ABC method:

A. Ask
B. Believe in you cause
C. Create opportunities to ask for donations

Come hear Kathleen speak about the Psychology of Money at The Non-Profit Toolbox workshop October 22, 2009 in Rockland, MA http://www.thenon-profittoolbox.com
