Forget the iDVD stage, when you press the play button (in the settings dialogue box) hold down the alt key, this will open another dialogue box where you can name and save the .mov file.

cool tip! Nicely shared!

Thanks man, that was awesome.
Wish youtube there were more people like you posting videos.
On another note, it's INCREDIBLE what you can produce with iPhoto so easily, and it's so gorgeous.

When I asked Apple how to make a slideshow from a book in iPhoto, they said it was impossible. I figured out this method too and shared a slideshow online. I wanted something more for an anniversary party where we don't want everyone handling the book. I opened my book in iPhoto, then print/PDF menu/savePDFtoiPhoto to create large, high quality files of all the pages. I took that to iMovie to edit the page flips in sync with music and narrations that I made with Garageband Podcasting.

This is GREAT! This opens up a lot of possibilities for me. I can't wait to try it. Thank you!
I was using iPhoto6. Trying to remember previous versions... You might try export under file.
