Riding these buses are really bizarre: they drivers are great, but you're certain you're going to get in a horrible, fatal accident at every turn. The turns are hairpin and the streets are just too narrow for it to be possible. Try sitting up top to really feel unsafe!

  • Hey is that bus going to stanley?

  • Actually it's coming from Stanley. I'm teaching in the mainland, and when in HK I have a room at the Maryknoll House, on the Stanley Knoll, 44 Stanley Village Rd. The building has great feng shui, and you can see the whole of Stanley market from their balconies.

  • Is that a Volvo Olympian?

  • Well, let me tell you smtg. It may FEEL unsafe in Hong Kong, but it IS unsafe in TURKEY! Go and ride one of those stinky green double-deckers in ANKARA. They don't feel unsafe. They actually flip over!!!
