I loved Ronald Reagan. I am a Republican because of him, I turned 18 in the early 1980's, and my family were life-long FDR Catholic Democrats, but when I looked at the issues and look at the leaders, I chose the Republican Party. Reagan was a graeat man, and every Republican stands on his shoulders. The Republican Party was dead in 1980, he changed the whole equation. Thank your President Reagan!

I have 2 admit even though I'm a liberal Democrat, Reagan had a confidence & a reassurance & an appeal that cut party lines. He deservedly won in 1984 because simply put, he was a much more confident, optimistic & charismatic than Walter Mondale. I honestly believe that he became a better leader during his 2nd term when he softened his approach a bit. It helped end the Cold War & give him international respect. Unfortunately 4 the GOP, Reagan would b 2 liberal by 2day's standards 4 the party
