@ukendcx2000 It's mostly because when KDKA got its call letters, that wasn't the case. A few stations in PA have their call letters beginning with K, and then after 1930-something, the FCC made that rule. So KDKA was grandfathered in.

news89 how did they manage to get call letters starting off with k in the Pittsburgh market? i thought that was only for the west coast.
