I have just completed my first tandem sky dive with UK Parachuting in Beccles on sat 24th July 2010. IT WAS AWESOME!
Your solo looked brilliant and I would love to eventually get to do mine. I didn't like the part when the parachute opens as much as the freefall.
What was it like to maneuver your way to landing? I cant Imagen being able to do that, as I had a go at controlling with help from my instructor and it was hard to pull to the left and right.

@Missdaisytiggs Hey! I was there on Saturday doing some skydives with my husband, baby, and nanny! I'm glad you had a great time! Yeah, the open does hurt the legs a little, but its well worth it! Steering the parachute isn't bad. Keep in mind, you were controlling a BIG chute, it did have to hold both of you. The smaller chutes you'd be jumping if you went on your own are easier to control. You still have to put some effort in though.

As for the comfort on opening, that gets better too; especially when you size the rig to fit your hips. Then the pads are on your butt and you can sit. I think steering towards the landing areas is the hardest part about the skydive. You have to estimate wind and how far you're going and all that. I've landed off a couple times but it's not that big of a deal as long as you land safe, they know people are new and will make mistakes.

Anyways, I really hope you get into jumping on your own! It would be awesome to see you around there! Let me know if you have any other questions. –Steph
