Y'know, when I was about 15 (5 years ago) Me and my friend would always play a card game called 'duel masters' , There was a show about it too kinda like Yu-gi-oh where they would place down cards then summon mosters out of the cards to attack each other. And we always used to say. "Man, give it about 20 years and they'll have a realistic version where it looks like monsters are appearing and stuff!"
5 years into it and the technology's over half way there. Can't wait.

I know its kinda out there, but what about creating headset for the layers? Simple clear kinda col looking headsets that could be used to help the dissorientation

a company already tried something similar with the PS3 and its camera... huge flop of a game.
it really is a cool concept, but for whatever reason it just doesn't catch on
-
yea they already made this its called Eyes of judgement for ps3

since when do you attack a monster? i though you could only attack a player and the player chooses to defend? o-o

me and my friends were just talking about this. i really hope the company who made this game gets into augmented reality soon.
i think someone just needs to make a commercial pair of glasses first

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this. As much as I do like MTG it's more than likely if they do make a game with the AR Yugioh, Bakugan, or which ever game has a show on that the kids like the most and will spend the most money on.

Well done. I can't wait to see the potential for stuff like this.
I had a student create the exact same concept last year. I agree it looks very cool and is a lot of fun to play with as a prototype, but the result still isn't as playable as the actual cards.
For that to happen, orientation-tracked displays have to become mainstream, because now you have to look at a screen in stead of the table to play and you can get disoriented quite easily.
But anyway, kudos on this project. The animations and such look very well done!

how do you find or make the 3d characters, and how do you make them walk, jump attack etc?

I used Virtools framework to deal with the characters movement. Inside the virtools it's easy to make that control.
