  • Hi, Can you give me your opinion please, i've watched both of your videos - Nice vids. I'm considering to go down the route you went, although i have an old MacBook Pro from 2007 and it came with a 'DVI to VGA' Adapter. I was led to believe i could use this. What do you think?

    Thanks

  • @jcEightySeven - Yeah, you should try it and see what kind of quality your screen comes out like. I have a VGA port on the back of my LCD TV, but I prefer the HDMI input. And I've read that the HDMI has better quality than the VGA, but to my eyes, I saw no difference. I guess it makes sense if you do graphic design or games design or some thing in that nature. My take would be trying both HDMI and VGA and seeing it for yourself if the visual quality are the same, or better.

  • i only hear sound thru my macbook???? any help please!

  • @theperfectlube The sound coming from your Mac is probably because you do not have an external speaker setup to your headphone outlet.

  • Do you have a macbook or a macbook pro? If you have a macbook pro was it made BEFORE april 2010? If so then Audio is not transfered over the mini displayport. If it was made AFTER april 2010 then audio over the HDMI cable should work.

  • @Cyb3rAssassin I got it in '09

  • thanks bro great video...

  • where is the 'any key' ??

    haha joke

  • hey dude, nice 2 videos - thanks.

I just have 1 question about resolution. Ok so when you're picking 1080p from the MBP's "display" options - is that only available because it's currently hooked up to an HDTV? I have just got a 15inch MBP (top tier - 2.2GHZ i7) with HI-Res screen too. I don't see the option of 1080p in my display preferances, the highest is 1680 by 1050. That's normal right?

  • What settings do u have on ur MBP that lets u use it closed like that?? lol Cause I tried 2day and my MBP (Early 2008) would just go in2 sleep mode and when I pressed the Space bar on my wireless keyboard it wouldn't wake up the MBP!! lol

  • @fatsotomuscles Did u go in2 System Preferences > Displays and check if the Aspect was set 2 1080p?? lol

  • hey so my macbook pro has 1440x900 resolution... is it possible to get 1920x1080 out of an external monitor running off the macbookpro?

  • I also have a 2006/7 macbook pro with DVI output- is there a way to connect that to a tv and set up dual monitors with the tv (e.g. drag mouse between displays)? Thanks!

  • you made one mistake. a bad word.

  • Hi.Thanks for your time and efforts. I am only using this for netflix...

have you tried it without the external keyboard? I can hook up just fine, but it shows the default screen on my tv (not my background) and no icons. I am assuming that you HAVE to have the external for this all to work?

    Thanks again!

  • hey. What kind of monitor are you using in your video? how big is it?
