  • iAntiVirus has a known bug ... it slams your processor.

I encountered this problem, when I checked in Activity Monitor ... it was iavd... I closed iAntiVirus and the processor wasn't slammed anymore.

Later I checked forums and indeed I was correct.

I suggest that if you want an anti-virus on your Mac: use ClamXav.

  • I recorded this 9 Months ago, and it didn't happen to have that issue then. Since then, I wouldn't have a clue nor do I care much because I have no need for it.

  • will it remove the virus if one is detected?

  • It will indeed.

  • good video man..... one question dude do you think this is better than clamxav?

  • Never tried it, So I wouldn't know.

  • How can a software help against a threat that does not exist? How can that software know of that threat, if it doesn't exist yet?

And how come, that in the past eleven years since Mac OS X' introduction ZERO viruses appeared?

Look for the "Mac Virus / Malware Guide" on MacRumors to learn more about Mac OS X and available malware and the differences and ways to protect yourself.

Also look for "The Mac OS X Malware Myth Continues" to see, that market share has nothing to do with that non-existence

  • Can it detect a keylogger?

  • I install this scan for visus and then completely uninstall and I do this every 3 months

  • Hey mate! How ya do these cool screenflow effects so that you can see your own computer?

  • Nvm i got it lol

  • How do you get it?

  • @geekfreackz has never happened me, still hasnt and never will :)

Still i'm sorry to hear that you encountered a problem with it =/

  • its not a problem.

  • No, ClamXav does offer protection at all times. You just need to enable it yourself. This feature is called ClamXav Sentry. You can choose which folders Sentry needs to monitor at all times. If you choose your HD, then Sentry will monitor your entire HD all the time. (You can enable Sentry by going into ClamXav's preferences).
