No one sees the video in the right? The one with the baby sucking on a titty. I don't see the connection, but I see the thumbnail.

opening shot, we see a jack bottle with a bridge and a string, and we scroll up...
and i see the missing neck, start laughing, and say to myself "i bet this guy used the neck to make the slide..!"
and the picture scrolls up farther, and we see the neck is actually the NUT !!!! LMAO!!! friggin genious!!!!!
-wipes tear from eye-

if this is the same bow from the philadelphia folk fest. im the new owner of the didley bow.it has a nice tone.C# TUNING.i cant wait to see you if your doing the folk fest again this year. i also make cigarbox guitars and would like to know if you lwould like to trade guitar for guitar,at the next fest. they play really nice ,intonation is right, and i put piezzo pickups in them. i would also like to talk to you about maybe joining up with us, to sell these at local music stores. i like ur work.

Im making one at the moment, and I was wondering what string your using?
Im assuming its a guitar string, and If so, which one?

I am inspired. I am so going to make one of these now...

that is sooooo badass!
I like the low "E". I would experiment with different strings that would best go with your voice.
Thanks for the question. Let me know how it turns out.

how did you go about getting the string onto the nail? I'm having a lot of trouble with doing so.

@shanephotos3 Hi Shane. I've attached strings several ways. I rarely do the same thing twice, but here are a few ways. Put a nail through the ball end of the string, stretch the string to the other naill and wrap the string tightly around the nail and the string itself. This all should be done tightly before placing a bottle or objects under the strings. Remember to do it tightly since the strings will stretch a bit. sound will come once you place the bottles under the strings to add tension.

To answer a few technical questions- there really aren't any rules
To building a diddley bow-I like deep low sounds so I use the thickest guitar string I can find "low e" and to make it sound even meaner I tune it down to a "d" this is just a rough guide. As for adding a pickup without soldering - you should be able to use the entire wiring harness and attach to your diddley bow. I like to hit the strings with anything nearby - wood dowels, pencils even sticks. Diddle strong my blues makers!
