18hp kohler magnum restored (please comment)

i restored an 18horse kohler magnum twin cylinder. i got bored and took off the mufler. now it sounds like a freakin bi plane. when i got the thing i t was locked and when i unlocked it, it had a nock in it, the left cylinder exaughst valve was stuck open so that one wasnt firing so i tapped it with an aluminum hamer to stop from damaging it. but now the damn thing runs good, better than it did befor.

not the smartest thing but all the pulling tractors dont have mufflers and theyre fine

Wow, what a dumbass, you should NEVER run an engine without an exhaust like that. it'll burn your valves right up, also, revving the engine past the governed speed like that is a great way to blow the engine, especially since you said it had a knock.
