A clock by Tim Hunkin with a gravity escapement. Only the weight of two small arms keep the pendulum swinging, so its timekeeping is unaffected by friction in the gear chain.

  • @PIPZZZ02 Yeah, me too. Odd isn't it? I'm always chilled out by the DVDs I have of his old Channel 4 Secret Life series. I think it's because he obviously loves inventing and making stuff and all the feel-good comes through to us in turn.

I guess that's how life should work really...

Long may you continue doing your thing, Tim.

  • Brilliant as usual!

  • thats an extraordinary clock, it's amazing how technology has developed over the past couple of hundred years. clocks similar to this one must have been considered the height of technology

  • What an amazing contraption!
