O dear we have a massive problem lol. Were talking about the PIRA who were a sectarian terrorist organisation.

Even the OIRA were sectarian in nature burning protestants out in the Republic.

The United Irishmen although containing some Protestants back in the 17/1800's however it wasn't the IRA nor was it anti-British or anything like modern day Irish Republicanism. It was more like Presbyterian's with their deep rooted views against the English Anglican church.

I don't know what you call a Freedom Fighter but my definition of a fighter, a soldier is not going round bombing town centres to bits, murdering civilians, burning peoples homes down, killing children, women in cold blood or ethnic cleansing.

Putting aside the previous debates:

Fact is the Hunger Strikers were terrorists some of them involved in murder, bombing, attemped murder Bobby Sands himself was smuggling weapons. In any normal democratic nation these people are put in prison.

While in prison they went on hunger strike for political status....however they weren't politic prisoners they were criminals, and as a result 10 killed themselves.

The US takes the very same view with all terrorists or killers in their country.
