I understand your point. Yes, orientation is not a sin, could we agree that actions off of homosexual temptation is a sin?

I didn't mean to excuse the extent of their sin. My point being more that rape and violence to the hosts daughter is radical inhospitality and not about homosexual orientaiton. Rape is not an act of sex so much as violence and control.

I also didn't mean to belittle the extent of rape and violence to the visitors as equal to the votes at General Conference. That is an exaggeration like saying my political oppents are nazis which belittles the holocaust.

Orientaiton, however, is not the sin.

That would limit the sins of Sodom to ONLY in-hospitality etc. The men wanted to rape the male angels, is that not a sin? They ended up raping the hosts daughter, is that not a sin to?

Or maybe one could read what the Bible says about Sodom and recognize that the inhospitality vote was the repeating of sin of Sodom. Examples: Ezekiel 16:49 - 50, "Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread..."Isaiah tells of lack of justice. Jeremiah ; in Wisdom 19:13-14, we read "...whereas the men of Sodom received not the strangers when they came among them."In Luke 10:10-13, Christ talks about cities that are inhospitable to his disciples.

Forgive them for they know not what they do. Thinking themselves to be wise they were as fools. Homosexuals are an abonomition to God, That is why he destroyed Sodom and Gomorra.

First this made me smile. Then to my surprise, it made me cry. How can so much joy, love, hope, Spirit, and dedication to faith and the UMC be "incompatible with Christian teaching?" To quote Peter, "If then God gave them the same gift that he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could hinder God?" C'mon delegates, let's do the right thing this year!
