This labor of love started one night back in 1997 when the following came to me as I was sliding into Dreamland: "I shall not change for I am King, and it is I alone who hold the Ring. Then He showed the gold to all around and no one dared to make a sound."

From those humble beginnings the story grew and evolved and took form in locals as far flung as Kentucky and Hong Kong and Bali. It was roughly 10 years ago, after moving to Tokyo, that I finished it and found a kindred spirit and wonderful artist to bring the words to colorful life. Her name is Kumiko Ueda. I learned later that publishers have their own artists, but I love these pictures and will never regret having them commissioned.

Like I said, this was a labor of love. I no longer have any expectations for it as a book (though you never know, do you), but hope that even in this simple format you can enjoy the story and the artwork.

BTW, I know the writing is very small--in this format it's not meant to be read, it's meant to be listened to as you view the pictures.
