MashAllah I have allot to learn InshAllah, I had a question when we are in Jumuah prayer we do 2 raka. Is this the dhur prayer or is it a strictly a Friday prayer and we must also pray dhur?. And I am not talking about the 2 rakah upon entering the masjid or any sunnah prayer.

@Fight040Allah: It takes the place of the Dhur prayer, so you do not have to pray Dhur. The 2 you pray upon entering (before you sit) is called Tahiyatul Masjid.

@shaykha so it means we do not have to pray 4 raka sunnah & 4 raka farz of the dhur right after the 2 raka of jummah?

@Fight040Allah Selamun aleykum brother, if you are still looking for this answer here it is. The juma prayer is the 2 reka that you have mentioned and it is separate from dhur prayer, so we must still pray the dhur prayer which is 4 rekas. The other 2 raka that you have mentioned when you enter in to the beautiful peaceful mesjid it is not mandatory but it is been recommended by our prophet. Inshallah that helps, may ALLAH guide us to the straight path AMIN. Selamun aleykum.
