People are missing the point. Its not about how bad or good the estates are and how they look or being "POSH". Its about the mobile phone masts and the HEALTH RISKS to local people that live next to them. Take a look at the web site mast sanity and read about the CANCER clusters around these masts. Middlesbrough Council did not give the ok for this. Mbro council is over 5,000 employees and 49clrs. It was the cllrs on planning (mostly Labour) and the chair of planning (labour cllr Mcpartand) who gave the ok for this. You voted Labour cllrs in so you get what you voted for.

@yummywong No actually they are not. They are appointed to represent the community who voted them in. Linthorpe voted in three - one Independent and two labour to represent the people of Linthorpe in the council - to fight for and vote for what would benefit the residents there. The Labour dominated planning committee decided the masts would go there - end of.

Point taken and thank you for correcting me. My main issue is the fact that the estate has to be rebuilt only 20 years after a complete overhaul when it was perfectly fine for decades prior to the 80's.

The council are NOT knocking own any houses in G Hiil.. The council do not own any of the houses- they belong to Erimus Housing and it is they who are demolishing them. Why do so many people get their facts so wrong?

The point you make about masts not being erected near schools because of health fears is an interesting one. How can the government and local councils justify putting masts in built-up areas if they won't put them near schools? It makes no sense at all. The truth is though that they can get away with it because most people are unaware of the dangers. Living long-term in these radiation fields can be catastrophic to health. And most people in urban areas are within spitting distance of a mast.
