Woman saved from the train tracks. When Ms. Addie Norfleet of Georgia, USA, who is legally blind, walked off and fell from a subway train platform just as a train was approaching the station, one brave man, Samuel White, jumped onto the tracks to rescue her while other passengers shouted and waved their arms to flag down the train. Fortunately, the train operator, Ms. Ayana Dunlap-Bell, was able to halt the train in time. Ms. Norfleet was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and released in good condition.

Our admiring salute, Mr. White, Ms. Dunlap-Bell and platform passengers for your quick actions and alertness that saved Ms. Norfleet. Such a community spirit of shared concern surely brings comfort and inspiration to us all.

For his unhesitating and selfless acitons, Supreme Master Ching Hai is honoring Mr. White with the Shining World Hero Award.
