An F1 fan's view of Timo Glock crashing at the 2008 German Grand Prix in Hockenheim.
You can't see much, but it shows how little you can see from the crowd.

  • wow thats gr8 footage even better than tv when i sw it happened i knew it must had been merchcancial aand how quick they got to him and was that a flashing orrage sign to tell the cars to slow down or stop, it wasnt as fast and volient as other accents i guess timo must had felt or seen a problem because martin and mark saiod he dropped it but i knew it was out of his control

  • Yes, they did get to him very quickly - although he stopped right next to a marshal's post! That flashing yellow light represented a waved yellow flag; this is in preparation for the night race in Singapore when lights will be used instead of flags. If you watch the on-board replay, it was actually quite violent when he slammed into the wall.

  • Best place is probably "Spitzkehre", all things happens there.

  • Is that at the hairpin?

  • you are very fortunate to be able to sit there!!! ;-)

  • The tickets were very expensive!

  • It still gives me a smile when people say that Glock let Hamilton pass in the last corner in Sao Paulo 2008 deliberately. Does anyone remember the Italian Grand Prix at Monza that year, Vettel's first win? In lap 36, Hamilton overlapped Glock and forced him onto the grass at the exit of the first chicane. After the race, Timo swore revenge on Television publicly. Timo and Lewis are a lot, bot NO pen pals.

  • Why does the camera always pan down JUST as a crash occur?

  • @thomashm9 Glock did a decent job.

  • That is one of the best places to view the GP from. Back in the mid 90s when they ran the full cuircuit, the sound of the V12s echoing through the stands as they dissapeard up the loooooooong straight would bring chills down your spine.

Almost as good as when you go to spa. When they run through the forest, its such an evil sound i love it :)

  • Glock would not help Hamilton clinch the WC, they have been racing against each other in GP2.

Hamilton is the clear 2008 WC.

He is a blindingly fast driver.

He will beat "The Stig's" lap time anyday.

  • you're right. I liked Massa to win the championship, and Hamilton got lucky. But Glock didn't help him, he was just on the bad tires.

  • Gotta love the fanboys saying that Glocked helped Hamilton...

Are we forgetting he was the fastest driver still on dry tyres in the wet? No? Maybe? Almost probably... Come again

  • sxxxs6ale9sxxxs, you're an ignorant.

Do you know something about tyres and grip...??
