I'm German, and I must admid that this funny.
At least, Britain seems to have recognized that jokes about the Stone- or Middleage are a bit outdated, so they switches to a slightly more actual date, some 70-80 years ago.
Still not very up to date, but - hey! - It's Great Britain! Nuff said.

Clarkson got in a little trouble after this, the German Government got its panties in a bunch saying that people would be arrested if they sieg-heiled on German TV. I think there is a limit to jokes concerning the history of any country, but governments shouldn't freak out over every bit of fun that is being made. I'm German and I know that Brits like to joke about us, and I also found Jeremy's VW Scirocco advert quite funny...

@pommesich Which is why my friend is Scottish and is happy to be in Britain.

I would buy the german version of the mini xD

For me the Union Jack and racing green are british things. Or the special humor (especially TV series like fawelty towers and Absolutely fabulous). There are many things like food. I travel to Hannover today ant there is a british store I will visit. The first thing to buy is walkers chrisps salt&vinegar. delicious. Maybe a deep frier would have fit better to a mini. As I know brits love good and solid dishes.

@Muhlineks Unfortunately the British Empire still exists!!! In the heads of the English. And that is why so many of them (not all of them, many others of them are very nice) behave like they would be something superior in an international environment! I can tell... Be believe me
I am offensive and I find this German
