BARIKAD CREW:
Straight out of Haiti, Barikad Crew is one of the most celebrated and admired Hip Hop Artist on the island. Rewind 20 Years ago, what began as a microscopic platform with Master Dji and few others, is now a major force to be reckoned with in the HMI. Creole Hip Hop is here to stay. Love it or not, one must respect it. Its the chosen platform of expression chosen by the youths of today. BARIKAD CREW has taken Creole Hip Hop to a new level by keeping it real & by writing music that transcends their joy, pain & Haiti's beauty.
Despite the tragic loss of 3 members in last years catastrophic car accident, Barikad Crew maintains its vision to continue representing Haitian Hip Hop all over the world.
one of the most admired Hip Hop Group out of Haiti, BARIKAD CREW is the pillar of the Creole Hip Hop Movement. Signed under SAK PASE RECORDS (Wyclef Jean & Jerry Wonders Record Label) ran by Joe Mignon and Papa Jube, BARIKAD CREW just released their new album titled JISKOBOU which sold 25,000 copies in less than an hour in Haiti.
BC is officially signed with Sak Pase Records. It was confirmed by the man himself Papa Jube.
(JUBE) Barikad Crew is signed with Sak Pase Records / it happened last
year around November 08
(QUESTION) Does Papa Jube believe that SakPase can open doors for Barikad Crew to enter AMI? What is the likelihood of that happening? Is that their goal?
(JUBE) Undeniably a label like Sak Pase with all the resources,
contacts and alliances that we have, it's a given that we can open
doors for them, Wyclef has exposed few groups on MTV etc...(T-Vice/
Djakout Mizik etc..) nothing happened not because of Wyclef, but I
feel it was solely because the talent that he exposed just did'nt
have mass appeal, another word, We can take any artists there, but
the AMI is not a joke, it's a super structured industry, where
success depends on "Mass appeal" so, the answer is "Yes" but BC 's
music and their dedication will ultimately determine where this
journey ends.
