THE MAGIC CARAVAN
Con la mostra "Magic Caravan", che inaugurerà il 28 aprile
alle ore 19:00, la Dorothy Circus Gallery accompagnerà il
suo pubblico nella magica spirale dei colori del circo, tema da
sempre presente nel concept della galleria.
Dal 28 Aprile al 1° giugno la galleria ospiterà due mostre personali
degli autori più eclettici della scena Pop Surrealista; lo
statunitense Mark Elliott e il giapponese Naoto Hattori.
I due Artisti si confronteranno su un mondo che, nell'immaginario
collettivo, è sinonimo di fantasia, evasione, colore,
musica, creando, su due diversi piani stilistici, il proprio
circo personale.
Mark Elliott pittore dalla tecnica fotografica ci restituisce
tutto il sapore di un'epoca che ha segnato il destino
dell'umanità e dell'America in particolare: gli anni 30.
Naoto Hattori, l'artista del bizzarro, da vita a creature che
rievocano in chiave pop surrealist Bosh ed Arcimboldo,
con le sue funamboliche creazioni riproporrà il gusto di lasciare
libero sfogo alla fantasia con i suoi animali indefiniti
inseriti in ambientazioni circensi.
With the Magic Caravan show, that will open on 28h of April
at 7:00 pm, Dorothy Circus Gallery will accompany its public
in the magic spiral of circus colours, a theme which has always
been key for the gallery. From April 20th till June 1st, the gallery
will present two solo shows by the most eclectic artists on
the Pop Surrealist scene; Mark Elliott from the United States,
and Japanese Naoto Hattori.
The two artists will confront themselves with a world which,
in the collective imaginary, is synonymous with fantasy, escapism,
colour, music. They will create their personal circus with
two different styles.
Mark Elliott paints on the basis of photographic technique. He
renders the full flavor of an era that marked the destiny of humanity
and America in particular: the 30'.
Naoto Hattori, artist of the bizarre, reminds in a Pop Surrealist
way of Bosch and Arcimboldo; with acrobatic creations
and indefinite animals placed in a circus setting, he gives us the
pleasure to set free our imagination.
