When we were in Florida, we took a two-hour Atlantic cruise on the tall ship "Freedom." At one point, the captain called Isabella -- who was the youngest passenger -- up to the steering wheel and handed it over to her. A young crew member stood by her and told her what to do. "That side is port and that side is starboard," he told her. Isabella got a big laugh from the rest of the passengers when she quite logically asked, "Why don't you just say right and left?" Afterward, she was amazed that we had let her steer, because she's not even old enough to drive.
