Let's take a quick look into the Japanese mind and uncover the differences in how we receive and express our humbleness. Again, this video is meant to be for humorous purposes and should not be applied to all scenarios. Disagreement with what I might say is fine (it is the internet after all), let us just try and be civil about it. =)

Koichi actually just released his video on almost the exact same concept a day earlier. So I decided to make this one a response video to his.

Maybe this video does a good enough job of explaining what it is I'm trying to talk about, but I personally feel that it didn't do a good enough job. Any questions you might have, feel free to ask, and I will answer as best I can.

  • @delusivex very observant of u! u have a keen eye! but unfortunately, you spelt "flag" wrong. There's an L in there ya know! Good luck with spelling! :)

  • Hey Cruxay I have a question. I like your hair and it also looks very Asian, was you're only motive to work on a cool hairstyle or was it also to better immerse yourself amongst japanese people and be less noticed as a Gaikokujin?

  • @Ledarifique western hair is boring and typical :) didnt have much to do with immersing myself... i just always found it boring and figured id cut my hair once i graduated uni and started working full time lol.

  • uhm nobody tells a foreigner that their language skills suck, that'd just be rude, its common sense, not a japanese thing o_0

  • Very funny and pretty helpful!

  • Yeah I know about this!

When I went to Japan, I could barely match together a few simple words to form a conversation.

I just said "Mina-san (Guys), konnichiwa (hello). Malaysia (Country) kitte kara (come from)." for my opening speech/introduction then reverted to English for the rest.

After the thing ended, some of them came up and said my Japanese is good....

I guess the Japanese always put up a (fake!) ultra polite/pleasant personality when dealing with non-Japanese people.

  • ...lol I said queer not queen. Learn English.
