[Note on the title of this song]
Some people wonder why the word "Euro" is used in the title. "Euro" in this title means "Eurobeat". (In Japanese music scene, "Euro" is often used as an abbreviation for "Eurobeat".) "Eurobeat" is one of the genres of popular music. At first, this term was used in UK in 1980's and it referred to a sort of music with certain characters (up-tempo, quadruple time, using synthesizer as a main instrument, Continental European sound [for the most part Italian sound], etc.). The same genre was also called by another name "high energy" (Hi-NRG). This genre of music was introduced into Japan in middle 1980's and it was accepted mainly as the music for Para Para dance, although Eurobeat became out of date in UK and Continental Europe by the end of 1980's. All the music by HINOI Team are classified under the genre of Eurobeat. So it is natural that the word "Euro(beat)" is contained in the title of a song by HINOI Team.
But there is another reason for it. HINOI Team belongs to a label "SONIC GROOVE" and it was a sub-label of "Avex". (Avex became a holding company after the re-organization in Oct. 2004. So precisely it isn't a label no longer, though its name is contained in those of some labels under it, for example "avex trax" "avex entertainment" etc..) Avex is not only one of the biggest music entertainment companies in Japan, but also the biggest supplier of Eurobeat music. Since beginning of 1990's Avex has released some series of Eurobeat compilation albums. The most famous series among them is "Super Eurobeat" series (1990-), which continues even now, and it contains more than 200 volumes. Another famous series is "Eurobeat Flash"(1995-1999), which has 22 volumes. The title "Super Euro Flash" is conscious of these two series.
This song by HINOI Team is a cover version of the original song by 'Franz "V.I.P" Tornado & Bazooka "T.C.V" Girl', which was contained in volume 9 (May 2001) of "EUROMACH" series (16 volumes, 1999-2002, released from "cutting edge", one of the labels under Avex) and also in some other compilation albums later.
[Note]
This song is the coupling tune of their second single "KING KONG" (July 2005). It is contained also in their album "Super Euro Party" (March 2006) and this dance performance is contained only in "+Video Disc" version of the album (Note that the region code of it is 2 [Europe, Japan, etc.], not 1 [USA and Canada]).
The CDs (single "KING KONG" and album "Super Euro Party") containing this song are available in Japan even now. If you live in the other country, you can buy them at REASONABLE prices through internet from "YesAsia". Search it. You can buy them also from Amazon, but the prices of imported CDs at Amazon are too high.
[English Translation of the Lyrics]
SUPER EURO FLASH
Hey! One, two, three, two, three, two, one!
Hinoi Team, here we go like a fire.
SUPER EURO FLASH!
[1]
SUPER EURO FLASH, wow
--- Leaping over the Milky Way,
SUPER EURO FLASH, wow
--- we can go anywhere.
SUPER EURO FLASH, wow
--- I'm afraid of nothing.
SUPER EURO FLASH, wow
--- 'Cause we have this beat.
[2]
Fly at a burst, please, Baby,
--- more vigorously than rocket fireworks.
Just like the beat-magic of love
--- it sparkles, fascinating with dreams.
Here we come, here we go, like a fire.
--- Let's go, as we please,
Here we come, here we go, like a fire.
--- anywhere endlessly.
[3]
SUPER EURO FLASH, wow
--- Feeling the light,
SUPER EURO FLASH, wow
--- I'll wake up.
SUPER EURO FLASH, wow
--- The rhythm of joy
SUPER EURO FLASH, wow
--- shoots through me.
[4]
Shall we fly out further, Baby,
--- hotter than now?
We're livening up. Are you ready?
It's the throbbing of our youth.
Here we come, here we go, like a fire.
--- We can't help going.
Here we come, here we go, like a fire.
--- We can't wait forever.
(repeat [1])
SUPER EURO FLASH!
