If you are not very practised you can take the cable railway and go on a nice round course on top of the mountain. I never saw so many inns on a single mountain so you definitely won´t starve up there.

I personally don´t recommend the path down into the valley ending at the cable railway´s starting point (there is another path to the valley I don´t know yet). I think it´s boring, steep and slippery with all the tiny rocks. But it´s all subjective. A friend thinks it´s just wonderful!

If you don´t mind a little climbing you can hike to Benediktenwand from Brauneck. Brauneck is also a good starting point for hang-gliding.

Please comment on the video. You might also tell me if I should do the next video in German because it seems that most viewers are from around here anyway.

  • I would like to have a time machine and visit the Alps region like 200 years ago, when there were no cable cars and no modern mass tourism. Nature is strikingly beautiful there, but I love the mountain solitude.

  • I know what you mean. It is a little odd to see women in high heels in a restaurant on a mountain top. But there still are mountains without cable railways. Basically I like the idea of still being able to visit e.g. the Zugspitze when I am 90 years old. But of course a little more adventure could not hurt sometimes....

  • wow thats beautiful site and funny sheep

  • maybe a "transporter" like on Star Trek would be best. Minimal environmental impact. People would just "beam up" to the mountain, admire its beauty in silence, and then "beam down" to the city again.

  • Whoops forgot to mention the skiing resort. it features many inns. The lifts are a bit dated, but they don't disturb the landscape in summer too bad, since they were excluding the triple and the Quad, painted mostly green, so they're only visible if looking closely.

Instead in Ischgl: Those damn supports are disturbing the landscape in Summer

  • It's my favourite mountain in bavaria. Especially the Benediktenwand. being just 1801m asl. it has a wonderful view, which is worth the scrambling over various smaller summits (ranging in the 1550s-to 1710s) until you reach it. Takes 3 hours from the brauneck cable car.

  • Thank you for bringing me back memories of my childhood. I spend so much time in Lenggries when I was a little boy together with my grandma. I remember all this very well: Brauneck, the river Isar, the mountain Geyerstein opposite Brauneck and much more. This is now nearly 40 years ago!

  • This is a beautiful video. I love the animals and the view. Haven't been on youtube lately so I haven't viewed your vid until now. Nice work!! :)

  • no problem
