What do you mean by the ninth. You played the first three degrees of the minor scale. Isn't the ninth the same thing as the two?

Yes it is. As a chord tone, it's always called the 9th.

are you playing in concert F??? F/Ab/Eb? plus Bb? It is somewhat harder to follow if you don't play trumpet or flugelhorn.

if you hold your trumpet to the side it is easier to see what notes you are playing.
