Because I saw some people asking about this: As far as I know, putting a dash into the centre of the word God was a way originally employed when writing as in some religions any paper that bore the word 'God' on it became holy, at least in some minor way, and thus could not be simply disposed of or treated like any other writing.

This is a lovely Christmas song, even for someone not particularly religious, like me - a nice rhythm and, of course, beautiful singing, like all of Blackmore's Night. :)
