Around 2 PM this Ambulance was cut off on Kilam Drive and shortly after pulled the vehicle over on Atkinson ave. RCMP were notified and arrived right away. No license plates on the Tiberon and Police were checking out the drivers info and talked to the Paramedic. #14 - Most Viewed (Today) - Reporters - Canada Nov 3 2010

  • @Rbrockcoble First and foremost, we can all agree that paramedics are not law enforcement officials. However, section 494 of the Criminal Code of Canada (a federal statute equivalent to Title 18 of the United States Code) empowers citizens to arrest law-breakers; known as"citizen's arrest." A paramedic may, in-theory, in her civilian capacity -- as opposed to paramedic capacity -- detain/arrest this person until a "peace officer" (verbatim: section 494) arrives. Thus, you are somewhat correct.

  • @gailgrove Well all I can say that there was no proof that the ambulance did the pulling over just because it's behind the vehicle and just because some guy with no life pulls a camera out after all this happened and decided to put some words in the info box dosn't make anything true...just saying lol.

  • I got pulled over by an ambulance at like 1am after I got jumped by a couple dudes and one had a bat and went to town on my face with it. I was stopped at a red light when they pulled next to me and saw I was a bloody mess and then they lit me up and called the police it sucked cause the cops did'nt let me drive home till 4am after they took a full report.

  • haha weird, my ex girlfriend and I got pulled over by an ambulance while driving a black tiburon...I would've kept driving but was out of gas and was looking for a gas station. Was a good thing though, 5 cop cars scream on to the scene, turns out my ex-gf had a bunch of warrants for her arrest that she had conveniently forgot to tell me about over the course of our 1.5 year relationship.

  • They could have suspected the driver was intoxicated, or having some medical issues causing them to drive terrible, informed PD and waited for them to show up to check them out...

  • someone got hert

  • @Mike54171 ur the low-life in this case who's bickering about something just cuz there's no 'proof'. there's no logical reason to fake this...

  • I'm not sure what the legislation is in wherever this was filmed, but I'm an EMT in New Jersey and we're definitely not allowed to pull over vehicles for traffic offenses (unless I happen to be an officer with off-duty powers as well). When someone does not pull over to the right for us when we're on an emergency call, we radio to PD with the vehicle plate and description, and then a summons will be issued to the driver. Or in this case, since there is no plate, PD would send a unit over.

  • @gailgrove You said you wouldn't pull over for an ambulance. Kindof against the law there. You're supposed to pull over for emergency vehicles when they're on a call. :P
