Actually neither one of them had a mental illness. Charles Starkweather was treated like scum as a kid from his piers for multiple reasons. In high school, he was a trouble maker and when he met Caril, he became over protective leading to his violence in the killings. He saw people and hated them immediately. Charles in no way should feel sympathy. I understand that you're trying to defend the Starkweather name which I understand because I too am a Starkweather but Charles was a horrible person.

Well, if you look at it this way. How many bad decisions have you made in your life? Also, seeking revenge is just as devilish as those who wronged you. He killed people, and then in turn you want to kill him and the gal involved for your satisfaction. Think about it. Doesn't sound much different then why he did those killings, now does it?

Yeah, that's why I don't think hes in hell. He had his fair share of suffering and paid dearly with his life. Maybe he has found love in the form of God, Jesus, and the holy spirit now, I think that is the most beautiful kind!
