Here's just a clip where the traditional Abloys function is shown. Abloy is pretty hard to pick. You need propper tools, and they're more difficult to make than for a pin and wafer tumbler type locks.

See user "hyytynyt"'s video "Abloy-lukon toiminta" to see the insides of abloy locks

  • Can i ask you why i cant find anyone picking an Abloy Classic on here ??

  • @BTFORTYONE Abloy design is known everywhere to be a challenging lock to pick. At the moment, "Classic" is fading to past, since new designs like Abloy Exec are spreading. Probably rare people share the interest of picking classic... After all, only the older apartments have classic locks anymore.

I remember one person, a finnish rapist who desingned and buildet aparatus with what a talentive user could open the classic. There's only a handfull of people who holds that skill and knowledge.

  • @Slay76 Thankyou for replying Slay76, i like your videos man...Im in the process of making an Abloy Classic pick out of Small Stainless Steel tubing and it would have been nice to see someone picking one open......Over here in England they have Abloy Classics on Washing machines and i was hoping to make a Bit of money on the side, if you know what i mean

  • @BTFORTYONE sure I know what you mean... There are a few types of working desings for "disc-wafer" locks. I'd love to spend some time on classic since I have possibilities of making a pick for it. I only wish I'd have more time after all the work and studying. I wish you my best with the abloy-pick project

  • Emil Henriksson patented his disc-detainer system in 1919.

  • True. He had the idea 1907 and manufacturing started 1918

  • @ihaveairlockers I'm an apprentice locksmith and I'm doing an assignment on this lock. I would absolutely love any information you have on it! It would be helpful beyond belief! I realise this comment is from two years ago and I only hope I'm not too late but any help you can give me would be so appreciated! Thank you!

  • But where did he get the idea ?

    a cash register...

I am friends with emil's great grand daughter and I have the unprinted official history of Abloy.

If you want it, just ask. It was never printed more than 20 copies in 1964, i have one..
