You have heard of him, you have heard his music, you have heard his collaborations, and you have heard his beats. Rally, international recording artist is on the precipice of greatness. After a two year hiatus the New York based Reggae/ Pop artist has released a new album Rally Manifesto.
After spending time experimenting with different sounds he has come up with something that is entirely his own. Fusing reggae with party pop Rally is now an official club chart topper. Formally, Rally 'Strap' Bop, he was best known for his hits "The Story" , "Before She Get Dry' featuring Vybz Kartel and Wayne Wonder, and the Juno awarded song "Hot Gyal" featuring Carl Henry as well as many others. His music has taken on a whole new direction now as he aims for a more international market. His foray into bagpipe music is perfect example of that. "Sound of the Bagpipes" a collaboration with bagpiper Brian McGuire has been getting much international play. The video was shot in various scenes in Europe; Ireland, Italy and Paris France, as well as Harlem New York. The collaboration has catapulted the artist into a whole new music genre and has gained him a whole new fan base.
When asked about the new album the artist says "I set out to create fun party music and it developed into something all its on". As many would consider the new album a complete change from his previous music however, Rally doesn't believe so "I didn't change my sound" he states. "My sound grew, one has to mature as an artist."
Now Summer has passed with it's sunny days and many, many Summer Tunes. Winter has crept in with its cold nights perfect for "Winter Loving". An ingenious collaboration between Reggae stars Rally Bop and Alozade celebrates winter's best feature, its long nights, in the song Winter Loving.
Voiced on the Goin In Rhythm by O Banga, produced by Rally Bop and harmonized by popular media personality Niki Chin, the song is already set to be the official winter anthem for 2011-2012. The collaboration came about when Alozade visited Rally Bop's Bronx Studio about another song produced by Rally on the Haarp Rhythm. "We were basically just holding a vibes, I had a hook and the song flowed from that," Rally stated.
This will be the newest hit to add to Alozade's number ones which includes "Bad Out Deh" featuring Kiprich in 2006. Having been in the Reggae scene for quite a while his fans would say he is due for another chart topper. "Winter Loving" is a bit different from Alozade's previous music but it is expected to do well with the Artist's old fans and gain him new fans in the process.
"Winter is a loving time, it's mostly about indoor activities," Rally laughs. "Everyone needs a live blanket to keep them warm." Not yet officially released the song has been getting much buzz on all the social sites. Rally is not surprised at the response; as everyone has been waiting for that Ode to Winter he is more than happy to fill in that gap. The song will be available as a single as soon as November, much to fans' delight. It will also be featured on the compilation album Goin in Rhythm.
Even though Winter Loving celebrates winter, Rally Bop's favorite season is still Summer. "I am Jamaican first of all; nothing beats sunny days at the beach. But winter nights filled with winter loving makes winter worth it."
