In the last year around 1500 people have fled to australia as boat people.
Compared to other countries it is just a piss in the ocean.
It seems it will be unavoidable as an election issue .
Even tho we take in two hundred thousand every year with around one quarter or fifty thousand
of those being from the UK and NZ.
