Collateral Murder - Iraq

Classified military footage released by WikiLeaks showing an attack by US military in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad. This callous attack left 12 dead including two Reuters staff. Two Iraqi children were also seriously injured.

Americans killing civilians walking the streets in there own country again.

Reminds me of the Jason Lemieux Marine story “During the April offensive of 2004 in Anbar province my commander issued an ordered “Anybody on the streets was an enemy combatant” A couple of weeks later my commander told me over 100 enemy had been killed and that included anybody walking down the streets in their own city."

@atlas1171 I agree. At least three of those guys had AK-47's and one of them definitely had an RPG and was even pointing it at the helicopter for a moment. That's what you do in war. You see the enemy and if they have the means to fight you then you take them out.

At 19:25 the ground forces confirm the RPG/ammunition. From the prospective of the troops in the helicopter, it does appear that some of the individuals on the ground had Ak47s...the RPG being there cannot be disputed. In the end, this was a tragedy because there was collateral damage...but the troops acted well within the bounds of the rules of engagement

@masongbaird its a constitutional right to bear arms in the good ol' u.s.a does that mean each and every individual should be gunned down? America has invaded this country, they had no factual information that these people fired upon were hostiles and if they were carrying weapons they have every right to as they're in a hostile enviroment and protection may be required. If you were a civilian in an invaded country you would do the same.
