@TheRonBerg Maybe,culturally specific but in western society we don't eat animals for survival we have huge amounts of alternatives. It is untrue to say we need animal (ab)use to survive but this is getting boring and predictable your propably one of those indiviualists who see freedom as only doing what you want and not caring about the effects of your actions. @anabilish lastly, I don't like LotR and it looks like you ignore a lot about science. one can state something only if studied deeply and extensively, and it still might be invalidated some day cause new data pop up more and more lately, from anywhere, we don't know the half of ourselves, even less of animals, no sensible person would rule out anything about other living beings's properties, except for the obvious. but then, your choice, anyone can follow any made-up religion he/she wants

@anabilish right, a simple, valid and true argument for eating sentient beings is that sentient beings use and eat sentient beings for survival. and no, exploitation is linked only to us being rat bastards in fact it has always existed and always will, and no, food is bad when is bad cause if you take a healthy grown carrot and spray it with crappy stuff it gets bad. plus, livestock pollutes cause it's fed with cheap crappy grains, if raised in open space, grass-fed, it would be a lot different

@TheRonBerg Obviously, vegatables can be sprayed with pesticides and be unhealthy but that is not an arugement for eating sentient beings. Food is bad when it is based on a system of exploitation.You have to recognize the oppression of animals has a correlation to the exploitation of people and the environment.
