MEDITATE AND DESTROY is an 80-minute feature documentary on meditation teacher and author of Dharma Punx, Noah Levine. Tattoos, motorcycles and Buddha are featured in this hard-hitting look at how Buddhism has a place in the world of punks. This edgy, but serious documentary provides an intimate account of how Noah has utilized Buddhism to guide him from a life of addictions, self-destruction, and violent behaviors, to a place of insight. On the film festival circuit in 2007!! For more info check: www.meditateanddestroy.com

  • Yes, it is "Dubious Glow of Excess" by Good Riddance!

  • All those that are dissing Noah are most likely jealous. No matter how much money his parents may have had or didn't have doesn't take away from his life experiences.

He's doing something POSITIVE, all-the-while your comments are negative. Who's the poser???

I believe what he's doing is a great thing. To knock something good and positive shows a lot about one's own character. Maybe you could learn some things by picking up his book or listening to what he has to say.

    Namaste.

  • The fact people dismiss this guy based on his background and appearance is really sad, he presents the teachigns of buddha, just in a more modern way that more people can understand.

  • I loved Dharma Punx and Heart of the Revolution. At first, I wanted to rip Noah apart for being just another fraud who used religion or spirituality as a way to enrich himself but I couldn't find it. Page after page, I found myself saying, "This guy really gets it." Fortunately, my life didn't involve felony convictions and violence but I [have] the same punk rock ethics that he has and that's something you just cannot fake.

  • @TaoOfTheDog A punkrocker reading a book? haha

  • Not much mindfulness in these posts ;-) I find it refreshing to have it pointed out that liking punk (or anything for that matter) and practicing buddhism are perfectly compatible. Mindfulness isn't about running away to a mountain and thinking only lovely thoughts. Its about non-attachment. You can engage with the world and maintain a degree of non-attachment (not to be confused with detachment) and see dharma in all things, including punk. And that's from a buddhist Foetus fan.

  • He goes into prisons to help all those who are in misery, and i can hear him,but something stopping me from going deeper inside myself to try and stop the gambling.

All i can do is give it my best shot.

    thanks man

  • @lordburzum Dude he can't help that he was born white. Despite that fact he was suicidal by age five and numbing out on hard drugs by the time he was a teen. If you read the book, pretty much all of his friends from his youth have ended up dead or in prison. He easily could have been one of them despite his race and his family's financial class.

  • @lordburzum Noah has travelled throughout Asia visiting monasteries and listening to teachers.

  • i fucking love the angle Noah comes at his teachings. i'm more of a death metal guy then a punk but it's just nice to be able to relate to someone and where they're coming from. nice to see how someone who's life was so full of chaos become so grounded and then to take that mindful wisdom to help others along the way. tha'ts bodhisattva shit is what that is !! cheers man !!

  • @Omniczech

He represents the teachings of Buddha yet says that being in Prison F..ing sucks. If he was that enlightened he would know that Prison doesn't F..ing Suck.

  • I have little doubt that he is helping some people, but I have some level of doubt about his level of attainment. He is a pretty big self-promoter and this somehow rings a little untrue.

  • I saw this guy on Buddhist TV Network Channel in Korea.
