Jet Pack attack!

Airbus pilot Yves Rossy flew from England to France over the English channel in about 13 minutes. That's not such a big deal since it's only 22 miles, but the big deal is that he did it via jet pack! The device consisted of a giant wing and four kerosene-burning jet turbines. His take off started with a free fall from 8,000 ft above ground. The only way of steering was with his head and back. Believe It or Not!

I forgot to add the qualifier "..using a wingpack" in my final sentence. It was the lowest initial height for crossing the English Channel w/ a wingpack. Did he gain back his altitude plus, or did he keep descending as slow as his power would let him @ that altitude? Or did he stay level @ the height he descended to & fly afap. Looks like maybe the last one if he averaged close to 2 mpm

That makes more sense now. He only jumped from 8,000'. The one who crossed unpowered started from over 30,000'. I wondered if Jetman jumped from a lower altitude. That made more sense in calling it a 1st, as it seems to be looked upon as. It's the lowest initial height for a crossing of the EC
