This is the opening scenes of the premiere episode A TIME TO BE BORN, A TIME TO DIE of the cult TV show Coronet Blue which aired during the summer of 1967 on CBS. It was originally intended to be shown during the 1965-66 TV season and was on the shelf for more than a year, but was a surprise hit during it's summer run in '67. Unfortunately the company producing it went out of business and Frank Converse was now not available as he was signed to co-star with Jack Warden and Robert Hooks on the new show N.Y.P.D. which was premiering in the fall of 1967. The show was created by Larry Cohen who also was the creator of the TV classic THE INVADERS. Coronet Blue apparently was a expansion upon a classic DEFENDERS episode called The Traitor which starred Fritz Weaver. All 13 episodes of Coronet Blue (even the Defenders episode it is based on) are available at www.robertsvideos.com

I remember this. Used to watch it with my dad. Don't recall if he ever figured out who he was...

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I have absolutely no memory of this show! But Frank Converse--him I remember. I'd give anything to see him, Robert Hooks and Jack Warden in N.Y.P.D. again... got any clips of that?
