@jmmahony I'm 53 and I've seen REAL M80s, back in the sixties. They had waterproof fuses, so they were good for all sort of serious fun. Before the M80 there was an even bigger one called the Silver Salute. It would blow your hand clean off. Now THAT'S a firecracker!

If you think those are impressive, especially the one you said was "better than an M80", you've obviously never seen a real M80. And you probably haven't, since they've been illegal in the US since before you were born. Anything sold today labelled "M-anything" is _not_ an M80 and has no more gunpowder than an ordinary firecracker. The rest is just padding, which actually weakens the explosion.
