Are you playing with 2 people? It seems that way with the major boost at the beginning and the lack of switching. I'm amazed at the lack of blue shells hitting you; or lightning bolts. I play with the koopas (because their specials are very common and useful) but get set back by all the blue shells. I'd think the bullet bill kart would be better for you due equal speed to the diddy train but better acceleration. Still, amazing job.

@congokong87 (1 of 3) I play alone, of course. I actually made videos showing my hands while playing, check them out! About the blue shells and lightning bolts, well, what can I say? I restarted many, many, MANY times because of bad luck. This video happened to be the fastest run of many other failed runs. Call it luck, but I usually hover around the 29’25 to 29’45 on average. This run happened to have few driving mistakes AND a few shells/bolts. I made a “Failed Runs” video, check it out!

@congokong87 (2 of 3) I chose Baby Mario and Baby Luigi because, when you're in first place, only the two turtles, Diddy and Baby Bowser can get their special. I find that the turtles have special items that are pretty distracting. Diddy's special item is big banana which is not good on the second and third laps. Baby Bowser has a huge shell which can cause more harm than good because it stays on the track for a long time. Remember: my objective is time trial so most items can/will mess me up.

@congokong87 (3 of 3) The stats you talk about are for racing around more, let’s say, “casually”. Mostly holding A and doing few mini-turbos (57 MPH). Barrel Train (BT) is the best if you do mini-turbos throughout the track (70 MPH). The extra speed you get is sustained slightly longer than all the other karts and it's possible to chain them together without loosing significant amounts of speed. Those stats mean basically nothing at the point where I'm at. Thanks for the comment. :-)

This game brings back a lot of good memories from high school. As awesome as the game is I'm glad they eliminated snaking from 'Mario Kart Wii' (at least for the most part). Still a classic game.
