This is Holley's story. Adopting another dog was the LAST thing we wanted, or needed. But in this case, we couldn't have lived with ourselves if we'd left her here to die. We visit this park at least once a week. and I couldn't bear the thought of watching her starve to death, or ride by to see her shot and killed by some red-neck. The area seen in the video is NOT in the park. It's on privately owened timber company and farm land. This is the road that leads down into the park, boat landing and ferry. Haines Island is a beautiful place. What's happening to the environment around it is a crime. Wetlands are slowly diminishing and animals are loosing their habitats and dieing from being poisoned by toxic run-off from sites like this. It's heartbreaking, not to mention the cruelty of abandoning a domestic animal here.
Thanks for watching!

  • With more people like you, the world would be a better place. You have done a great job by rescueing this lovely dog.

  • I agree, rescuing is the way to go. These animals make great companions. We will continue our efforts to help more like Holley. She's a great dog, we love her and we're glad we found her when we did.

    Take care!

  • You ROCK!! We have 4 rescued dogs, 2 rescued cats and one rescued parrot.... If people would spay and neuter... this would NEVER happen... God bless you!

  • I agree with you, there needs to be more responsible owners. I hope your and yours are all doing well. Thanks for watching!

  • God bless you!!!. I myself am taking care of a stray cat at the moment. He has recently been ill so I have paid for his vetinary care and I make sure he has fresh food & water everyday. I can't bring him into the house as he fights with my cat but I have made him an amazing shelter in the out building. It is very rewarding to help defenceless animals and the world is a better place because of people like you and your husband...... Thank you xxx

  • This made me cry. Great video, pointing out the awful consequences of illegal dump sites and that poor dog. Thank you on behalf of that dog and all others for helping her. This makes me feel good, to see it, to know there are others out there who can't look away and won't. Good for you. Bless that dog and you.

  • "ride by to see her shot and killed by some red-neck"

While I applaud you for bringing this dog home, I'm not sure that rednecks are the people of the population I'd attached with abusing animals and shooting dogs.

  • Why does YT omit the year the posts were made?

  • please rescue me from listening to this womans voice, she is making my ears bleed shut up.

  • Oh my gosh, this makes me so mad. I would never do such a think to an animal. I want to rescue them when I grow up. I'm only 11, But thats just cruel! Glad you rescued her!!
