This video won first place in the high school video long category and focuses on the importance of everyday decisions regarding our water, soil, and air quality. It stresses that people can make a difference to improve our environment. The video uses a combination of interviews, graphics, voiceovers, still frames and B-roll footage to inform the audience of these decisions. It is important for the audience to be aware and informed on the topic of our environment. Later the video asks the audience to make simple changes in their lifestyle. This video feature has an introduction, followed by facts on water pollution and its effects on living things. How water pollution often leads to soil pollution is stressed. By focusing on erosion and turbidity of the water, the film gives examples on how to avoid this type of pollution. One example that is stressed is nutrients and fertilizers put into the ground. These nutrients end up in the ground water and then into water sources. After causing a big algal bloom, other organisms die off and greatly affect the food chain. Air pollution issues are also discussed. The video wraps up with ways to stop air pollution. Nicole is a student at Lahser High School in Michigan, USA.
