Pre my connection to the computer & downloading of software my sat nav was working fine. Since my first software update the Tom Tom freezes, switches off etc. Since a 'reset' it won't even load
...Same happened to me too, Go720 won't load the stuff from internal (onboard) memory and jams to show the divice and "SD card" pic with red cross over it :(. Is there a way to replace the onboard memory or use SD card with maps as "backup" memory to keep runnig the device?
I have a similar problem with mine but it wont even load the hard drive. I contacted TomTom and they were not helpfull at all. It was working until I connected it to the CPU then it stopped working. Now Im stuck with a product that I paid over $400.00 usd for and it dosent work. TomTom tech support said they were sorry for the inconvenience. What a crock, Ive written them time and time again to no avail. I think I will buy another one and do the old switcharoo. That'll teachem
I had the same with my TomTom ONE 3rd. It crashed after a sync and wouldn't come back. Tech support guided me to the solution: I plugged the unit to a PC with no HOME installed, formatted it (it didn't format in the PC with HOME) and had it updated again. My unit was only two weeks old, so I was able to download the latest map again, but I guess a backup restore would work. Now I keep the backup on a safe place. I suggest calling tech support because they must be used to this kind of problem.
I had the same problem with my 910 GO here in the US. I had a hard time to make them return it and get one that worked. It turned out that it was a software problem. I did the same thing you did. It was working fine and when I went on line with Tom Tom home, I downloaded some things and that is when the problems started. I hope that they will offer you another one. I will never download anything to my new Tom Tom. God luck to you sir.
I had the same issue....put it on the cradle that you use to connect to ur PC...then turn on, fixed mine :)

Try to delete the startup Image. It might sort it out...
