@torkair72torino Well yeah, American engines have always been underwhelming in the Hp/displacement department. But to say the ACR is anything but a production car is a bit wrong.. I mean, C'mon.. Lets compare it to another car on the list.. The Radical SR8.. Now THAT'S a purpose built speed machine!

@torkair72torino The 8 liter V10 making 500 HP means it is kind of loafing along so it's not even close to pushing the limits. Not a good thing for a track car but for a street car 500 HP is up there with the best and given that it's not working very hard means it will be reliable and continue to produce that 500 HP day after day, yr after yr without expensive, time consuming maintenance. That's a pretty good combo for a street car + there is plenty of room to tinker for those that want more HP

@bliglum The Viper ACR, when compared to a show room stock viper, is anything but a production car, it is a purpose built speed machine! A factory Viper has an 8 liter v10 making 500 hp, to me that screams over weight/underpowered.

@torkair72torino I'm not even really a domestic car guy, but.. How can you say such things about one of the best American cars of all time.??.. The Viper ACR holds one of the fastest production car Nurburgring lap times of all time.. I would'nt call that overweight or under powered..

@mike39648 MOst likely... The viper is an over weight, under powered, fiberglass canoe built for people to compensate for... certain inadequacies...
